Jeff Chang is the Executive Director of the Institute for Diversity in the Arts at Stanford University, the founder of the artist network CultureStr/ke and the news site ColorLines, as well as the author of several books on politics, the arts, and hip hop, including We Gon' Be Alright: Notes on Race and Resegregation, Who We Be: A Cultural History of Race in Post-Civil Rights America, and Can't Stop, Won't Stop: A History of the Hip-Hop Generation. Chang is one of many thinking seriously about America’s history of racial violence and division; overall, in his work, he seeks to empower artists to disrupt social norms and envision a truly just world rooted in shared humanity.
